Lecture: An engineer’s perspective on energy efficiency
Energy Efficiency is a key challenge in a variety of sectors, ranging from urban planning to detailed consumer product design. Long term strategic thinking, human behavior during product purchase and use, complex sets of data -or lack of it- are just some of the issues to be taken into account when dealing with efficiency, therefore a whole new set of professional skills is required. The aim of this lecture is to provide an overview of how energy efficiency can be addresses in different contexts, such as: strategic planning, buildings, industrial processes and consumer products.
