Massimiliano Chianodone was born in Udine, Italy, in 1968. He graduated from University of Udine (M.Sc.) in Computer Science and from University of Trieste (B.Sc.) in Electrical Engineering. He has been working for several years at MSC Software Corporation as system administrator and at the Synchrotron Light Laboratory in Trieste as software developer, then again as system administrator for a local government administration. In 2012 he got the the Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at University of Padova. His main research interests are in real time control systems and applications to the electric power system. Since 2008 he collaborates with the Electric Power Generation and Control laboratory (EPGC lab.) at the Department of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Trieste.
Lecture: Data communications in modern power systems
The use of TCP/IP technology is becoming an industrial standard in power systems. Communication over TCP/IP network presents advantages and new challenges for electrical engineers. The lecture would present most recent results in using TCP/IP protocols models in smart grid communications.
